November has been a month focusing a fair bit on John Obi Mikel, mostly because of the international break and the fact he isn’t playing for Chelsea.
The French club have recently been bought by American businessman Frank McCourt, and a promise of money for the January transfer window has got the transfer rumour mill in overdrive on the other side of the Channel.
We covered early reports last week, and now Le10 Sport reckon that contact has been made between the Ligue 1 side and the various parties surrounding the player, but the transfer remains a difficult one to complete.
The French website reckon that with a wage of around €3-4m at Chelsea, any deal would be difficult to complete, meaning a move to China is more likely for the Nigerian midfielder.
All hope is not lost for Marseille, but it won’t be easy.
