French outlet RCM Sport today has a big story about Lyon’s refusal of a bid they’ve received for Lucas Tousart.
Even though there are some who believe the player’s exit wouldn’t be a bad thing, it’s claimed the Ligue 1 side rejected an offer of €20m from Hertha Berlin for him.
And Tousart isn’t the only target the German club want in the January transfer window. It’s claimed that Hertha have an Arsenal player in their sights as well.
RCM says there have been negotiations for the transfer of Grant Xhaka, who’s been having trouble in London since he reacted badly when leaving the pitch, and subsequently lost the captaincy. It’s not made clear how the talks stand, as they’re just said to be ‘ongoing’.
If Hertha Berlin really made this bid of €20m for Tousart, then that’s probably because he’s the number one target.
But now with the offer rejected, perhaps it means they could now make a more serious attempt for Xhaka, depending on how much Arsenal are demanding for him.
