Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign Ekwah Elimby from FC Nantes, according to claims from France on Wednesday.
The Premier League club have been linked with Elimby previously, but Ouest France, a well connected regional newspaper, believe that the deal is happening and the youngster will be a Chelsea player soon.
Elimby is a 16 year old defender and Ouest France say Chelsea will be paying Nantes €2m for his services. It’s a low fee for Chelsea, but sounds like a good price for the French club to get for such a young player.
Ouest France state: ‘According to our information, he has engaged with the Blues and will not return to La Jonelière. An operation that should bring two million euros to FC Nantes.’
Elimby has been through France’s famed Clairefontaine training system, explains the report, and is one of two Nantes youngsters expected to leave the club this summer.
The other is Kamal Bafounta, also 16, who has interested Everton but is likelier to move to Borussia Dortmund.
