Chelsea are in the picture to sign Kays Ruiz-Atil from PSG in the next window, according to Wednesday morning claims from Foot Mercato.
The 18-year-old versatile midfielder has a contract expiring with the French club in the summer, so is able to speak to other sides about a move in the next market.
Despite his young age he’s played 181 minutes of Ligue 1 football so far this season, but has been completely out of the picture since Mauricio Pochettino took over at the Paris club. He hasn’t even been on the bench for the past six league matches, so will likely be a little concerned that the new manager isn’t a huge fan.
Foot Mercato say that despite the youngster being considered one of the greatest future hopes at PSG, he’s heading for the exit when the current campaign ends. Discussions over a new contract haven’t been going well, and it’s not just down to money.
Ruiz-Atil would be concerned about his role in the Pochettino project.
This is where Chelsea come in.
Foot Mercato report a meeting took place last year between the player’s entourage and Chelsea, and the Blues remain interested. It’s thought any efforts to take him to Stamford Bridge would be helped by the presence of Thomas Tuchel.
