If the latest claims from France are to be believed, Chelsea could be set to make a very big splash on the January transfer market.

Already reported as being in negotiations to sign Schalke defender Sead Kolasinac, the London side are also very interested in Celtic’s summer signing Moussa Dembélé.

The 21-year-old, who signed at Celtic Park for Brendan Rodgers in the summer, has been in fine form for the Bhoys, scoring 20 goals in 38 games so far this season, and is now the subject of a €40m (£34.3m) bid from Antonio Conte’s side, with talks between the two clubs ongoing.

This, reported by SFR Sport journalist Sara Menai, is a rather incredible bid this late in the transfer window, especially considering Chelsea signed Michy Batshuayi for a similar fee in the summer.

However, clarifying the situation to one of her followers, Menai explained that yesterday, Conte told Roman Abramovich he wasn’t counting on the young Belgian striker anymore, which has seemingly led to the interest in Celtic’s Moussa Dembélé.

Things can happen very quickly at this stage of the transfer window and we all know money talks, especially when it comes in large sums.

Dembélé himself made it very clear he wasn’t looking to leave Celtic this winter, but if the club accept Chelsea’s offer, will he be able to say no?
