With the transfer window shutting in France, Germany, Spain and Portugal on Friday, now is the time for clubs to start panicking and perhaps making last minute moves.
One that appears more and more likely to happen is the exit of Celtic’s Moussa Dembélé, who reportedly missed training on Wednesday morning amid claims he was in talks with Lyon, Marseille and a handful of German sides.
These rumours could easily have been dismissed were it not for the emergence of a few claims that same afternoon that Celtic had started contacting agents just after lunchtime so they can help them find a new striker by the end of the week.
If Dembélé wasn’t on the verge of leaving Brendan Rodgers’ side, why would they be doing that?
Now the question is: who can Celtic replace the Frenchman with?
There aren’t many players out there available, and the only one that springs to mind immediately is Divock Origi, who knows Rodgers well from their time at Liverpool together, and who has been pushed to one side by Jürgen Klopp at Anfield.
That’s just us speculating, however, but don’t be surprised if that pops up in the next 72 hours or so.
