Belgian star Michy Batshuayi made his big money move to Chelsea from Marseille this summer, but hasn’t been able to displace Diego Costa from the first team.
The 23-year-old has managed 52 minutes of league football so far this season, and it seems he may have to wait a while for his chance to shine.
A couple of days ago The Times reported Batshuayi was never on Conte’s wishlist, and it was sporting director Michael Emenalo who signed him.
That has led France’s Le 10 Sport to speculate that Batshuayi could return to Marseille on loan, if his situation doesn’t change at Chelsea.
The Belgian international is said to be very attached to Marseille, and could return to revive his career. The Ligue 1 club are in the process of a takeover, and new owners could spend big money.
Le 10 Sport say nothing is impossible, and many obstacles stand in the way of their idea.
Bathsuayi started both EFL Cup games for Chelsea, and it could only be a matter of time before he starts playing more regularly. Le10’s idea is probably more for a domestic audience who are interested to see how the new Marseille regime will develop the team.
