During the winter transfer market, Chelsea were linked with a move for Kays Ruiz-Atil.

Borussia Dortmund were also credited with an interest, although it was later made clear the 17 year old wouldn’t be moving in January, despite concerns about his progression with PSG.

The midfielder’s contract with the Ligue 1 club lasts until June 2021, although there’s a chance he could leave in the summer. Foot Mercato report Ruiz-Atil’s entourage haven’t received enough guarantees about progression, so would be looking at opportunities elsewhere.

This is where Barcelona come in.

Ruiz-Atil has previously been in the youth system of the Catalan club, but Barcelona were forced to release him due to their FIFA sanctions regarding signing youngsters.

Now they’re keen again, and Foot Mercato say Barca have made a ‘contractual proposal’ to the player, such is their interest in taking him back to the club.

A source close to the situation has told Foot Mercato it’s a possibility to be taken ‘very seriously’.

These claims appear to be coming from the player’s camp, so there’s a chance Barcelona are being used to pressure PSG.
