France’s Foot Mercato are going big on Chelsea today.

Earlier they reported the Blues have made a €40m offer to Lyon for Moussa Dembele. That offer had been immediately knocked back, and it was strongly suggested Frank Lampard’s side would return quickly with a better deal, this time potentially including Olivier Giroud.

Now they claim that Michy Batshuayi could also be leaving Stamford Bridge, with Aston Villa presented as keen. The Premier League new-boys are said to want Batshuayi on a loan basis initially, however, they hope to have a purchase option included in any deal.

Foot Mercato report it remains to be seen what the Belgian international and Chelsea think of Aston Villa’s transfer wishes, although it’s made clear the London club aren’t against seeing the player leave.

With Euro 2022 on the horizon, Batshuayi will want to get as much football as possible to convince Roberto Martinez he should be in Belgium’s squad. That could make a move to Villa seem more attractive, especially if Chelsea are serious in their pursuit of Dembele.
