Despite Jean-Michel Aulas’ various statements in the media that Alexandre Lacazette is not for sale and that a new contract could be on the way, most clubs would give up pretty swiftly.
Not Arsenal, however.
According to an exclusive from Le10 Sport (their track record isn’t the best, before you ask), the London club are planning on placing another bid for the French striker before the end of the week.
No amount is stated, but it would, of course, exceed the €35m bid revealed by Lyon in a statement last week.
Le10 also go a bit further and explain that the reason why Wenger is not giving up on Lacazette is because he knows the player wants to join the Premier League side, with the personal terms aspect of the deal already sorted.
We’ll have to wait and see whether or not this actually happens, but when Aulas doesn’t want a player to leave, it’s a bit like talking to a brick wall.
Maybe a €50m wrecking ball would make him talk?
