Manchester United’s interest in Valencia’s young midfielder Fran Villalba has been widely reported in Spain in the last few days. The 18-year-old plays for Valencia Mestalla, which is the club’s reserve team, but has already made his debut for the senior team.
Villalba reportedly has a release clause of €4m, whilst his agent, Vicente Fores, also confirmed Manchester United’s interest in the Spanish midfielder exclusively to Sport Witness.
Yesterday, Super Deporte reported Villalba’s representatives are in talks with the La Liga club over a new contract, and the Spanish website have a quick update on that.
According to their latest report, Villalba is set to sign a contract renewal in the upcoming days. Super Deporte say the player is set to stay at Valencia, and things not look better for a stay.
It’s reported the situation has stabilised after a meeting between Villalba’s representatives and Valencia on Thursday morning. The youngster isn’t looking for a bumper contract, but rather wants assurances about his future.
Under Gary Neville, Villalba was promoted to Valencia’s first team, but he lost with the managerial change.
