Manchester United, Manchester City, Tottenham and Fulham are all in ‘informal’ talks over signing Arkadiusz Milik, reports Ciro Venerato.
Whenever there’s a Napoli transfer story on the go, it can be certain that Venerato is involved somewhere. The journalist covers the club full time, and he’s been quoted by MundoNapoli as saying: “As for Milik, the intermediary told me that there’s informal talks with Leipzig, Manchester City, Manchester United, Fulham and Tottenham. The latter are the most reliable track, but the formula requested by Napoli does not convince Mourinho.”
Tottenham have been the club linked the most, with Jose Mourinho continuing to look for a striker to add to Harry Kane. Claims in Italy in recent days have been optimistic a deal can be done, however, it’s been made clear it’s not there yet.
Manchester United and Manchester City haven’t been in the story so much, and it’s possible Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Pep Guardiola would consider a striker signing. At Old Trafford there’s only really Odion Ighalo as a back-up and he’s only on loan until January.
Injuries to Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus may give City a nudge, although their funds may be tighter should they seal a move for Ruben Dias.
Fulham have been mentioned in passing, yet to consider such a switch Milik would surely have to be assured he’d be a starter, which may not be the case elsewhere.
