According to TMW, AS Roma players have worn special shirts in support for Sean Cox today as they finished their final training ahead of Wednesday’s match.
The Liverpool supporter was attacked last week before the Champions League semi final 1st leg at Anfield.
TMW have reported the Serie A side have been wearing a jersey with ‘Forza Sean’ across the front as tribute to Cox. The Irishman has been in a coma since last Tuesday, and the Italian club want to show solidarity towards the Liverpool supporter.
Yesterday there were reports doctors hope to bring Cox out of his coma.
Liverpool meet Roma in the Italian capital tomorrow night and already have one foot in the final. Jurgen Klopp’s side raced into a 5-0 lead last week, but two late goals from Roma makes the return leg interesting.
Roma managed to overturn a 3-0 lead when they faced Barcelona in the last round, but an away goal for Liverpool could end tomorrow’s tie.
Both Liverpool and Roma are working to make sure the return leg goes ahead without any unsavoury incidents and the Italian club’s players wearing shirts in support of Sean Cox is a gesture of solidarity which will surely be appreciated by the travelling fans.
