According to claims in the Italian media Leeds United are closing in on Chievo Verona forward Caleb Ekuban. The 23-year-old has been linked with a move to the Championship side in recent weeks.
Last month it was reported Leeds United were showing an interest in Ekuban, following his impressive loan spell with Partizani Tirana last season. The forward scored 17 goals for the Albanian side last season, which reportedly brought him to the attention of Leeds United.
A move to England this summer went quiet until the past week when it was claimed in the Italian media Leeds United are looking to move in on Ekuban.
There were even some suggestions the player was set to travel to England to complete his move to Leeds United, which seemed premature at the time. However, TMW believe a deal is ‘one step away’, and a move to Leeds United is close.
Leeds United interest in Ekuban has been played down in the English media, with reports saying he’s only been linked to the club because the club’s sporting director Victor Orta knows the player’s agent.
Despite this, it seems these claims aren’t going away in Italy, where it’s insisted Ekuban moving to Leeds United is a distinct possibility.
