Over the weekend, a nice little story appeared in Tunisia, claiming that both Brighton and Watford were interested in Youssef Msakni.
The Tunisia international, who currently plays for Al Duhail in Qatar, was said to be preparing a trip to England as he was ‘very close’ to signing for the Seagulls.
However, another source claimed Watford were also interested, and now Cardiff have been thrown into the mix.
According to Mosaique FM on Tuesday, the ‘very close’ to Brighton claim was a bit premature, as no decision has been taken yet, it seems.
The radio station claim, according to Qatari sources, that Msakni is currently in England, with the aforementioned trio (Seagulls, Watford and Cardiff) all very interested in him.
Before anything takes place, however, the forward needs to ‘undertake physical tests’ to ensure he will be OK going forward, having spent the last six months or so recovering from a knee ligament injury that forced him to miss the World Cup.
Should everything be fine, he would sign for one of the three clubs on a six month loan with a view to buy at the end of the deal.
