Eden Hazard ‘could leave for Arsenal’ this summer, with Real Madrid set to offer him out as they look to free up funds at the Bernabeu.

That’s according to Cadena SER, who say the Gunners will need to fight the likes of AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund for his signature.

Arsenal have been named as surprise contenders for Hazard’s signature this summer, with Real Madrid set to try and ship him out of the club.

They want to raise funds for a big summer of spending that will likely see Kylian Mbappé and several other high profile names arrive at the club.

First, they need to get some players they don’t want off the books and Hazard, who is among the top earners at the club, is one of them.

Arsenal have been brought into the picture in the last few weeks, with a report yesterday even claiming that they had returned to the fore after initial contact with Madrid a few weeks ago.

Cadena SER pick up on that and state that Hazard ‘could leave’ for the Gunners this summer as Madrid are ‘set to offer’ him a move away.

AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund are also interested in him, and it is, in fact, the latter who have the ‘most options’ to secure a deal.

That’s because Eden’s brother Thorgan is already at the club and, more importantly, Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez has an ‘extraordinary relationship’ with the Bavarian club.

That puts them in the driving seat for Hazard’s signature, although they would have to actually want the Belgian star first.

He also needs to want the move, with that report yesterday stating he actually intends to stay at Madrid this summer, and indeed until the end of his contract in 2024.

Whether that’s feasible remains to be seen, but it’s clear Arsenal have work to do if they do want to pull off a deal this summer. Not only do they have to convince Hazard, but they also need to beat the stiff competition coming from Dortmund.
