Performing admirably in Ligue 2 this season at Lorient, Alexis Claude-Maurice has attracted a fair bit of interest around Europe ahead of the summer.

We already covered the story linking him to Norwich late last week, and Arsenal added themselves to the list over the weekend following reports the Gunners had been scouting the 20-year-old throughout the campaign.

Inevitable stories about Matteo Guendouzi trying to convince emerged, yet there are no guarantees the youngster will be at the Emirates next year, such is the competition.

As well as the Canaries, other European sides have formed a long queue, as Le Télégramme in France believe Lille, Monaco, Mainz, Borussia Mönchengladbach and Eintracht Frankfurt are also all contenders for Claude-Maurice’s signature.

The local French newspaper explain it’s ‘certain’ the youngster won’t be wearing Lorient’s shirt next year, with Arsenal ‘making eyes at him’ ahead of the summer.

Making 34 appearances for Lorient in Ligue 2 this year, Claude-Maurice has scored 14 goals and picked up four assists.
