Former Valencia manager Cesare Prandelli has revealed he turned the chance to replace Claudio Ranieri at Leicester City. Ranieri was sacked last month despite leading Leicester City to the Premier League title last season.
TMW have reported on comments Prandelli made when he confirmed that an approach was made by the Premier League side. The Italian coach revealed he quickly turned Leicester City down because of the way Ranieri was sacked by the club. The former Italy boss said he couldn’t go to a club that operates in this way with its managers.
“There was an approach, but I quickly said no. You do not go to a place like this after I saw how they treated Ranieri. You do not go there,” said Prandelli on the Leicester City job.
Ranieri was sacked by Leicester City just days after their defeat to Sevilla in the Champions League, but the club’s fortunes have turned around since Craig Shakespeare was installed as the manager until the end of the season.
Leicester City have pulled away from the relegation places after three league wins in a row, and are also into the Champions League quarter finals after beating Sevilla on aggregate last week.
