Former Swansea City director John van Zweden has told Cardiff City forward Lex Immers to quit the Championship side, and re-sign for his former club ADO Den Haag. Immers only joined Cardiff City on a permanent deal in the summer, but has found himself in a struggling team this season.
Yesterday Immers posted a picture on his Twitter account showing him in action for ADO Den Haag five years ago. Van Zweden, a fan of the Dutch side, picked up on Immers’ post, and replied by urging his compatriot to come back to ADO Den Hagg.
Van Zweden said life would be much better for the Dutch forward if he returned to the Netherlands, rather than stayed in Wales with Cardiff City.
“You better come back mate!!! Life is so much better then where you are now,” said the Swansea City director.
Immers has never hidden from the fact he still has a lot of affection for ADO Den Haag after coming through their youth system, followed by five seasons in the senior team. Given Cardiff City’s woes in this campaign, and his post on social media yesterday, it seems the 30 year old may welcome a move back to his former club.
