Paris Saint-Germain released Hatem Ben Arfa after the end of the last season as he failed to make a single appearance for the Ligue 1 winners in the 2017/18 campaign.

After being linked with various clubs in the summer transfer window, the winger completed a switch to Rennes on September 2nd, with whom he signed a two-year deal.

According to Telefoot, the former Newcastle United man had a ‘proposal’ from West Ham United as the Hammers were looking to bring him back to the Premier League on a free transfer.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side were not the only club interested in the player as there was interest from Real Betis, Sevilla, FC Porto, Eintracht Frankfurt and Chinese Super League side Tianjin Quanjian.

However, Ben Arfa has ‘rejected’ proposals from seven clubs so that he can make a switch a Roazhon Park as he always favoured a move to Rennes, with whom he is yet to make his debut.
