With the Ligue 1 trophy all but already wrapped up, all eyes in France are turned to the Champions League when it comes to Paris Saint-Germain.

Originally pleased to being drawn against José Mourinho’s Manchester United a month ago, the tide within the fanbase has somewhat turned since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over, with the Norwegian winning his first six games in charge, including a 1-0 away victory against Tottenham at the weekend.

For the players, however, nothing has changed, or that’s what they keep telling the French media.

While the likes of Neymar and Kylian Mbappé will approach the game like any other, things might be a bit different for Angel Di Maria, who spent a season at Old Trafford, back when Louis van Gaal was manager.

Sitting down with France Bleu, the Argentine was asked about the upcoming clash, and whether it meant something to him to return to Manchester.

He said: “We’ve got games before that one! They’ve changed manager, and they haven’t lost since, but we must only think about us and only us! If we do everything the way we’re meant to, it will all go well.

“I only spent a year there. It wasn’t the best time of my career, or should I say I wasn’t allowed to have the best time of my career. There were complications with the manager at the time, but thanks to God, I was able to come to PSG and show once more what I could do.”

Bought for £67.5m from Real Madrid, Di Maria made 32 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils, during which he scored four goals and assisted teammates 12 times.

He was then sold a year later to Paris Saint-Germain, for whom he’s played 160 times, scored 57 goals and picked up 60 assists.
