Former Liverpool star Ryan Babel is trying to revive his career at La Liga side Deportivo La Coruna.

Babel has made an immediate impact at Depor after he scored an injury time winner against Sporting Gijon last night.

Shortly after the game, the 29-year-old was been speaking to Spanish website Riazor, and was asked about the support he has been receiving from fans.

Babel insists he has been receiving amazing support from the fans, and that it was similar to Liverpool fans.

He said:“Before scoring the goal, the fans were supporting us. Especially, the stands that are behind the goal where I scored, those fans reminded me of the support we received in Liverpool.

“In bad and good times they maintained their support and did everything to get us up.”

Babel enjoys good support among Liverpool fans, after he scored few crucial goals during his time at the Merseyside club. The Dutch footballer’s career hasn’t been quite as good as his talent at times suggested it could be, but he hasn’t a wonderful opportunity with Depor to succeed in La Liga.
