Former Liverpool goalkeeper Brad Jones has returned to Melwood for pre-season training under Jurgen Klopp, after his contract expired at Eredivisie club N.E.C.
It is reported Jones wants to take his time to decide his next destination, and Liverpool offered him a chance to train at Melwood to regain fitness.
On Thursday, according to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, Brad Jones has been offered a contract by Feyenoord.
The 34-year-old is also keen on signing for the Dutch giants, and both the parties were close to an agreement last night.
Brad Jones’ representatives are still negotiating over his wages and bonuses, and are expected to meet again today to discuss it further.
The Australian goalkeeper spent five seasons at Anfield, and he made 11 league appearances for the Reds. Jones remains on good terms with Liverpool and it’s a nice touch for Jurgen Klopp to allow him back to train.
Jones left the club at the start of last season to sign for Bradford City.
