After signing Guilano from Zenit for €7m, Fenerbahçe have now turned their attention to signing a central defender to replace Simon Kjaer, who they recently sold to Sevilla for €12.5m.

Fotomac say after the club’s dismal defensive performance against Goztepe this weekend, Fenerbahçe have now been offered the chance to sign Watford’s Sebastian Prödl.

The defender was an unused substitute during Watford’s opening day draw against Liverpool, after Marco Silva opted to partner Younes Kaboul with Miguel Britos.

The Turkish outlet have claimed Martin Skrtel’s agent has offered Prödl to Fenerbahce, and that the former Liverpool star would be keen to play alongside the Watford player.

Prödl joined Watford from Werder Bremen back in 2015, and he’s been a regular since his arrival at Vicarage Road. The 30 year old would be a cheaper option for Fenerbahçe after also being linked with AC Milan’s Gustavo Gomez.

The Austria international is under contract with Watford until June 2020.
