Currently 5th in the Bundesliga and still unbeaten, Hoffenheim are surpassing all expectations this season, and this with a 29-year-old at the helm.

Julian Nagelsmann, a surprising appointment at the time, has shown the world of football (so far) that experience comes in many forms, meaning you don’t have to be over-40 to be successful as a manager.

In the squad, one of the key players this season has been former Leicester City forward Andrej Kramaric who, with three goals and five assists to his name in 11 league appearances, is enjoying himself far more than he was at Leicester.

The striker only made 20 appearances for the Foxes in two years at the club, most of which came under Nigel Pearson soon after his transfer in 2014.

However, speaking to SportBild, the 25-year-old Croatia international has said that his current team, Hoffenheim, shouldn’t try and emulate what his teammates did last season.

He said: “Football in England and other league isn’t comparable. The story of Leicester is something unique. We are glad that is has been going very well for us so far. We must be alert and look ahead with realistic expectations.”

Despite trying to bring everyone back down to earth, Kramaric still wants people to understand that others can draw something from his former club’s successes under Claudio Ranieri, especially ‘how much team spirit can achieve.’

Seemingly now happy to be at a club where he plays regularly and with a manager who believes in him, the ex-Dinamo Zagreb starlet is also thankful for one other aspect of his move to Germany.

He concluded: “The food in England is not as good as here.”

There’s always one, isn’t there?
