Despite having nothing to do with Juventus since 2006, Luciano Moggi loves to chat about his former side.

Once the club’s chief managing director, the 81-year-old now gives sporadic interviews where he tries to either predict things (like Miralem Pjanic to Chelsea) or sound controversial (saying replacing Conte with Sarri was ‘absurd’).

The latest interview is with Calciomercato.it, and it involves Juventus’ future plans, which may or may not include Manchester United’s Paul Pogba.

Ever since the apparent fracture in the relationship between the France international and José Mourinho, there have been calls around Italy for his return to Turin, but Moggi doesn’t see it happening, at least not in January.

In fact, he probably wouldn’t bring the midfielder back at all.

He said: “Pogba and Milinkovic-Savic? Both would work with Allegri’s tactics, even if the Serbian wouldn’t serve the Bianconeri these days because he is not the champion that made the difference like last year. The same goes for Pogba, who thinks more about arguing with Mourinho in Manchester than playing.”

We doubt that’s actually the case, but if you look at most of the headlines in English newspapers, you could be led to believe otherwise.

Following the 3-1 loss to West Ham at the weekend, Manchester United are preparing to face Valencia in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
