According to claims in the Swedish media, FC Kalmar are showing an interest in Leeds United forward Marcus Antonsson. The Swede only joined Leeds United from Kalmar last summer.

The Leeds United player has been linked with a return to his home country in recent months after struggling in his first Championship season, and several Swedish clubs have been taking an interest.

Sveriges Radio have today reported Kalmar are looking to bring in reinforcements before the window closes, and their former player is an option.

Romario, Jonathan Ring, Erton Fejzullahu and Harmeet Singh have all joined the Swedish club this summer, but they may still look to sign Antonsson.

However, the Swedish radio station has also revealed the Leeds United forward may snub a move to Sweden, seeing going home as a step backwards.

Antonsson himself recently admitted he doesn’t expect to return to Sweden at this stage of his career, even though his chances at Leeds United will be limited again next season.
