By now, you would think everyone on this earth would be convinced by Tottenham’s Harry Kane as a complete striker.
After all, the 24-year-old is widely regarded as one of the best goalscorers in the world with 112 goals in 178 games for Tottenham so far, including 13 in 13 this season.
However, following Spurs’ 3-1 win over Real Madrid in the Champions League on Thursday, former Chelsea defender Frank Leboeuf revealed on Le Vestiaire on SFR Sport that he still wasn’t 100% sure about Kane.
He said: “I feel Kane had a solid game, but I’m still dubious about his technical qualities. I feel like everyone thinks he’s going to become a great player, but I think he’s rather limited technically.
“He does have a very interesting strength and power about him, and he gifts that third goal to Eriksen, but yeah. Dele Alli really impressed me”.
Ironically enough, Leboeuf said all of this while SFR Sport played a clip of Harry Kane’s goal against Liverpool where he chips the ball over Mignolet before half volleying the ball into the back of the net, two skills that require a certain amount of technical ability.
Sure, he isn’t a Luis Suarez or a Sergio Agüero, capable of going past three players with his dribbling skills, but to say he’s ‘technically limited’ is quite a reach for the former Chelsea player.
But, then again, what do we know?
