Luís Boa Morte is joining Marco Silva’s staff at Everton, the Portuguese media says.
Diário de Notícias reports this Monday that the former Portuguese international is becoming an assistant manager at Goodison Park.
It’s claimed Boa Morte has signed a two-year contract, and is set to replace João Pedro, who left the Toffees to take charge of Famalicão last week.
Marco Silva’s interest in having Boa Morte in his staff had already been reported by the Portuguese press this weekend, and it seems things happened pretty quickly.
Between 1997 and 2011, Boa Morte played for Arsenal, Southampton, Fulham and West Ham, having spent most of his career in the Premier League.
He started his managing career at Sporting, where he was an assistant manager and also took charge of youth teams.
He later had a short period as an Arsenal scout, then managed Sintrense’s first team and Portimonense’s U23.
For the last season, he had been an assistant at Maccabi Haifa in Israel.
