Former Arsenal defender Mikael Silvestre has urged ‘patience’ at the club amid growing unrest among the fanbase.
The Gunners have endured a torrid start to the season, losing all three of their league games so far, conceding nine goals in the process and failing to score any in response.
It’s led to growing unrest in the stands, with fans unimpressed by what they are seeing on the pitch from Arsenal at this moment in time.
Indeed, much of the ire has been directed at manager Mikel Arteta, who has become the lightning rod for much of the criticism currently being aimed at the club.
Large numbers have called for a change, even at this early point in the campaign, with many believing there are better options out there to lead the club out of their slump.
That belief has only been emboldened by several former Arsenal stars speaking out against the club, but it seems Silvestre does not share their opinions.
“I’m mainly concerned about the fact that many people want change,” he told Sport 1.
“You can’t snap your fingers and produce good results. People have to be patient and support the team and the team manager.
“That’s the only way everything can turn around. Every game is an opportunity; that is the right attitude.
“There are some things that need to be rethought, but it takes a great cohesion to get through this tough time.
“For now, it’s definitely best to give him (Arteta) more time instead of aiming for a quick change.”
