Feyenoord’s Orkun Kökçü has emerged as a transfer target for Arsenal, according to claims in England.
On Thursday, the Daily Mail reported the Gunners have ‘made initial overtures’ for a £23m (€27m) summer swoop for the 19-year-old.
These claims have been picked up in the Netherlands and Rijnmond Podcast have discussed the Turkey U21 international in today’s podcast. FR-Fans.nl have translated the comments made by guests on the podcast.
They suggest a handful of Feyenoord players, including Kökçü have ‘put themselves on the map’ and could leave the Dutch cub after this season.
Journalist Sinclair Bischop has given his verdict on the recent report suggesting Arsenal’s willingness to pay €27m for the player.
He said: “For that money you have to do it right away.”
Kökçü’s contract at Feyenoord runs until 2023 and it remains to be seen whether or not Mikel Arteta’s side will be able to secure his signature in the summer.
He has three goals and six assists in 34 matches in all competitions for Feyenoord this season.
