AmkSpor claim Trabzonspor have joined the race to sign Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina. Karadeniz Firtinasi are looking for a stopper who can compete with their captain Onur Recep Kıvrak, and Arsenal’s 2nd choice stopper has emerged as a target.
Trabzonspor are currently unable to extend Esteban Alvarado’s contract and if they fail to do so they will look to bring in Arsenal’s Ospina. Fenerbahçe have also been linked with Ospina and are looking sign the Colombian in the summer.
Fanatik claimed last week the Turkish side are in advanced negotiations to sign the player as they look to bring in a goalkeeper to compete with Volkan Demirel. Ospina isn’t content with his situation at Arsenal and it’s likely he’ll be looking for a club that can give him more playing time ahead of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
The South American has mainly featured in FA Cup and Champions League games for Arsenal this season, with manager Arsene Wenger preferring Petr Cech in Premier League matches. Ospina is contracted to Arsenal until 2019, and he’d surely be looking for a nailed on starting place if he’s to move.
