West Ham’s Antonio Ogbonna has given a long interview to Italian newspaper Tuttosport, in which there were quite a few bits to be highlighted.
We’ve covered some of these quotes in this first article, in which the player spoke about his adaptation to English football and the best stadiums and atmosphere he’s met in the country so far.
But there were still more interesting things to say, especially when Ogbonna was asked the squad leader in the club’s dressing room.
Ogbonna claimed captain Mark Noble is the one who takes last word: “We don’t have a real leader. Of course, when captain Noble is talking in the room, a fly won’t move. He was born and raised in this club, he has done all the stuff until he became the captain: he deserves respect. Our guide, however, is the 12th man on the pitch, our people.”
Still speaking of West Ham fans, Ogbonna made sure to tell the Italian journalists to watch the last party they had at Upton Park before the club changed grounds. That’s the moment which sticks in his memory.
“Go to Youtube for the videos of the last game we played at Boleyn Ground against United: we came back from 1-2 to 3-2 starting a crazy party. We want to get back to giving satisfactions of this kind to our supporters.”
