Inter Milan are thinking about a move for Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani when he leaves Old Trafford on a free transfer this summer.
That’s according to Calciomercato.it, who say the Uruguayan is being eyed up as an ‘experienced’ option for the club as they seek to bolster their forward line.
They explain that Inter are planning ‘big manoeuvres’ for their attack next season and Giuseppe Marotta has three ‘rather intriguing’ names on his list of options.
Marotta is ‘working on advance news’, and his priority is for a ‘big turnaround’ when it comes to the forward options in the squad.
He’ll be leaving Manchester United on a free transfer in the summer when his contract comes to an end, having spent much of the season on the sidelines following Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to the club last summer.
It’s long been felt he would return to South America, but Inter could offer him the chance for another spell in Italy.
The striker was ‘thought of in the past’, and Marotta could ‘flashback’ to that interest if Cavani shows he would be interested in the move.
At 35-years-old he still has plenty to offer, and perhaps he would like another spell in Italy if Inter are willing to offer it.
