There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Kocaelispor have stepped up their pursuit for Hull City attacker Abdülkadir Ömür.

The 25-year-old looks surplus to requirements with the Championship side, and he spent the second half of last season on loan with Çaykur Rizespor.

Kocaeli TV report on the latest developments regarding Kocaelispor’s interest in the Hull City player, after the club was linked with him in recent weeks.

It’s claimed the Super Lig side have made their first steps to sign Ömür after the player was recommended to them via agents.

Kocaelispor’s technical director Selçuk İnan has reportedly given his approval to signing the forward and Hull City owner Acun Ilıcalı will allow the transfer. The Turkish media outlet say developments should be expected in the coming days.

There have been recent claims Ömür is keen to remain in his home country after his brief loan spell at Çaykur Rizespor and it seems unlikely he will return to Hull City.

Ömür had problems in England last season and there were even reports he could walk away from football. He made 21 appearances for Hull City last season and he’s contracted to the Tigers until June 2027.
