Sam Allardyce’s first transfer business at Everton looks likely to have something to do with Sandro.

With Valencia now very much deciding they want to sign Sandro during the January transfer window, the next step is going about securing him. With Goncalo Guedes having had an operation this week, and Simone Zaza continually a step away from combustion, either physically or mentally, Valencia know they need an addition and Sandro is pretty much perfect.

The Everton player is ‘first on the list’ for Valencia, and ‘the number candidate’ for their major winter transfer. A lack of games at Everton only boosts Valencia’s resolve, report Marca, with the Spanish club seeing it as an aid to recruitment rather than a concern about the player’s level.

To push home the seriousness, it’s pointed out Valencia’s Anil Murthy ‘has gone to England and plans to meet with Peter Lim (the club’s owner) there to advance in the hiring’ of Sandro.

With Everton paying just €6m last summer, it’s hoped a good deal can be found, although it’s Sandro’s wages which may be an issue.

Marca believe Sandro receives more than €5m per year from Everton, clean of taxes, meaning there’d likely have to be a compromise from the player.

If a permanent transfer can’t be found, Valencia could also seek a loan with an obligation of purchase in the summer, allowing them to be more flexible on price and not so scared of FFP.
