As you will probably know by now, not only do we look into transfer stories at Sport Witness, but we also like to keep you updated on how your club’s loanees, in this case Manchester City, are doing abroad.

Thierry Ambrose is one of the players sent out on temporary deals by Pep Guardiola’s side this season, doing so at FC Metz in Ligue 1, where he was hoping to build on his time at Lens during the previous campaign.

Unfortunately for the 22-year-old, things haven’t quite gone to plan, as he’d only made three starts all season in the league prior to this weekend, when he was handed his fourth in a 1-0 win over Amiens.

The striker didn’t score, which takes his total to 18 appearances without a goal so far for Metz; a stat he’s naturally not happy about.

Speaking to Le Républicain Lorrain, the forward touched upon his first few months at the club.

He said: “At first, I was very frustrated. Up until now, I’d always played regularly. Now, I take it upon myself to train more as seriously as possible to put all the chances on my side, and I hope, obviously, to play more and more… Beyond that, I’m someone who wants to share his good mood”.

As for his lack of goals, he added: “I’m frustrated, obviously, but my pleasure comes from wins too. Especially since it’s the first time I’m going through such a long period without scoring a goal. I’m not going to say I’m living it well… but when you only come in for 10 minutes, it’s more difficult to be decisive. Beyond that, we just fight, regardless of what happens”.
