Fiorentina are waiting for Tottenham to make a ‘concrete’ offer for defender Nikola Milenkovic after they ‘approached’ him about a move.
That’s according to TuttoJuve, citing La Nazione, who say that the defender’s future will be decided in the ‘first half of August’
Milenkovic has emerged as a target for Tottenham over the last few weeks, with it believed that he is an alternative to Cristian Romero.
Spurs are pushing hard to get a deal for the Atalanta star over the line, but it’s an expensive deal, and there are other suitors.
Should they miss out, Milenkovic would be the other option, and La Nazione say the first half of next month is likely to be ‘decisive’ in that regard.
According to their information, Fiorentina are ‘waiting for concrete offers’ for the defender, whose contract expires next summer, after he was approached by Juventus and Tottenham.
They ideally need a sale this summer as they’ve encountered difficulties in convincing the defender to sign a new deal.
That means they face losing him on a free transfer next year, with him free to talk to clubs come January, and that is obviously something they’d prefer to avoid.
With Tottenham, though, it seems to be tied to Romero, and so it is next month that will be decisive in finding out if he ends up in London or not.
