The north London club’s mixed form in this calendar year has resulted in question marks over the Italian’s future beyond this season.
On Tuesday, Italian journalist Fabio Santini reported that Conte has strong interest from Paris Saint-Germain. Mauricio Pochettino is currently in charge of the Ligue 1 side, but his position is uncertain, especially after elimination from the Champions League.
Calciomercato have today come out with a report stating ‘PSG want Conte’. They provide an insight into the groundwork done by the French club to bring the Tottenham manager to Paris.
PSG view the 52-year-old as an ‘ideal’ candidate and the report explains the ‘first contacts have already started’ to appoint him as Pochettino’s successor.
It’s claimed Conte could ‘leverage the desired clause in his contract’, which will allow him to leave Spurs after this season, even if they try to retain him. The possibility to manage the French club ‘fascinates him a lot’.
After failing to impress in the Champions League and mixed performances in the league this campaign, PSG are looking to ‘reverse a dangerous trend’ and the Tottenham manager is ‘far from displeased with the idea’.
