Amiens are on the verge of agreeing a deal to sign Olarenwaju Kayode from Manchester City, according to claims from France. The forward has been on loan at City’s partner club FC Girona but hasn’t had much luck.

As well as failing to shine at the Spanish club, Kayode had a problem returning from his Christmas break. Going back to Nigeria, the player was then late returning to Spain as reported paperwork problems meant he couldn’t enter the country.

RMC report, according to their own information, a deal is close for Kayode to move to France for the rest of the season.

Amiens would initially be signing the player on loan from Manchester City, but they can then make it permanent during the summer transfer window.

RMC say ‘some financial details remain to be settled’, but there’s clearly confidence a deal is nearly done.

There had been reports in Turkey this week that an agreement in principle was reached for Kayode to move to Malatyaspor.
