As Tottenham Hotspur and Villarreal continue to discuss the transfer of Giovani Lo Celso, reports from Argentina claim the talks are developing well.
Journalist César Luis Merlo today writes that the clubs find themselves in ‘the final stage of negotiation’ for the midfielder’s move to La Liga.
It’s said Villarreal are working to sign Lo Celso from Tottenham on a year-long loan deal, and that could include either an option or an obligation to buy.
Despite recent reports from Italy claiming Fiorentina were also in the race for the signing, Merlo claims that the Serie A side never really ‘advanced’ for him, as there was only a poll from them many weeks ago.
Another Argentine journalist with updates on the situation is German Garcia Grova. On Twitter, he reports that Villarreal placed an offer to sign Lo Celso from Tottenham on a loan with an option to buy. According to him, the player has already agreed personal terms with the Spanish side.
So now that the Yellow Submarine have their bid on the table and the player accepted the move, it seems to be all in Spurs’ hands.
