VfB Stuttgart are planning one, last offer to Brighton and Hove Albion for striker Deniz Undav to try and bring the drawn-out saga over his future to an end.

That’s according to BILD, who report that the German side are ‘preparing’ a new, last offer to be made next week.

The newspaper explains that negotiations between the two clubs ‘should get going’ next week after weeks of back and forth and no movement on the matter.

Talks with Brighton have proven to be ‘tough’ up to now, despite the fact that Undav has made it clear several times that he wants to return to Stuttgart.

What has followed has been a back and forth, with Brighton countering Stuttgart’s efforts to use a purchase clause with a buy-back option of their own in an attempt to drive a better price from the Germans.

Now Stuttgart plan the next step, with BILD reporting that they are planning to make a new, significantly higher offer of €24-25m plus bonuses next week. That will be the final bid in the poker battle for the striker.

They’ve already moved to strengthen their negotiating position with the signing of Ermedin Demirovic, something that was done to send a message to Brighton that there’s no desperation on their part.

Undav is also remaining calm, recently celebrating his 28th birthday in Stuttgart with his family, where he is spending his post Euro 2024 holiday. That itself has been seen as another sign of his desire to make a return.

The question now is whether Stuttgart’s latest, and last, bid will be enough to convince Brighton and bring the whole affair to an end.
