NtvSpor’s Fenerbahce reporter Onur Tugrul has confirmed Crystal Palace boss Frank de Boer wants to sign Robin van Persie this summer. In recent days there have been claims in the British media the Premier League side are interested in the Fenerbahce star.

De Boer was this week unveiled as Crystal Palace’s new manager, and the Van Persie claims soon followed.

The former Arsenal and Manchester United striker’s future at Fenerbahce is currently unknown, and it seems Crystal Palace could take advantage of the situation.

Fenerbahce manager Aykut Kocaman recently said he would like to keep Van Persie at the club, but if the right offer comes in, things could change.

The Turkish club are already in negotiations with former Newcastle United forward Seydou Doumbia, with some reports in Turkey claiming he’s being lined up to replace Van Persie.

Van Persie will still be looking for a return to the Netherlands national team ahead of the World Cup, and a move to Premier League could be beneficial for the forward.

The striker has also been linked with a return to his boyhood club Feyenoord, but it’s unlikely the Dutch champions can match his current salary.
