After just under a week of negotiations, it appears that Memphis Depay’s transfer from Manchester United to Lyon is all but done.
Earlier on Wednesday, various reports from France suggested Lyon had made a third bid of between €17-18.5m for the Dutch forward, and that offer seems appears to have been accepted.
According to L’Equipe on Wednesday afternoon, the two clubs have finally reached an agreement over the amount to be paid by the Ligue 1 side.
However, the deal isn’t quite done yet with ‘a few more details left to sort out’, which mean Lyon still remain cautious about the whole transfer, and refuse to get too excited just yet.
The player has already agreed a four and a half year contract with the French side, and L’Equipe state that if all gets sorted quickly, Depay could arrive in France ‘in the coming hours’ to undergo his medical and finalise his move.
Lyon will be the 22-year-old’s third club, after spells at PSV Eindhoven, where he made a name for himself, and Manchester United.
