Mainz star Karim Onisiwo has admitted he would love to move to the Premier League, and specifically Liverpool, if given a chance.
Onisiwo has been in Germany since 2016 when he joined Mainz from SV Mattersburg on a free transfer.
He’d previously spent the entirely of his career before that in Austria, with spells at the like of Rapid Vienna, Ostbahn and Austria Salzburg, among others.
It is Mainz where he has really found his feet, though, starring for them since his move and racking up 19 goals and 21 assists in 145 games so far.
This season is already shaping up to be one of his best for the club so far, with two goals and seven assists in 13 games in all competitions, a tally to be envious of.
His tally of six assists in the Bundesliga is already more than he’s managed in any campaign previously, although he is lagging behind the seven goals he managed in 2018/19.
Either way, if he keeps up his current form, he’ll be setting new records for himself, something that is sure to get the rumour mill whirring into action.
And he admits he’d love to make the move to England if possible, with Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool at the top of his wishlist in that scenario.
“That’s always wishful thinking or dreams,” he told ABSTAUBER, relayed by Sky Sports Austria.
“I’m in good shape, of course, but still my rate has to improve so that a Premier League club is still interested in me at my age.
“But I work hard on myself and try to improve every day. Of course, the Premier League is amazing, and I’d take any club. My favourite club, though, is Liverpool.”
