Edson Alvarez’s departure from America this summer is starting to be admitted by the Mexican club.

It’s not like agents or directors are spreading rumours to make money with the sale. This time, it’s manager Miguel Herrera who claims he may not count on the midfielder for the coming season.

With the player being linked to several European sides, especially Wolverhampton Wanderers, the America boss doesn’t sound confident of his stay.

“I see him far from staying, he is a player who is attracting the attention of many people in Europe,” Miguel Herrera told local journalists (via Bolavip). “But as long as he doesn’t leave, I still consider him at the club, I reiterate, he is an attractive player because of his age and his moment.”

Wolves have been linked to Alvarez for a few of months now. A couple of weeks ago, we covered a story from the Mexican club’s local media detailing how this process would be done, since an intermediary would count on the help of Jorge Mendes to get the move.

On Thursday, outlet Record once again names Wolves as a potential destination, adding that back in the start of the year, Dutch sides Ajax and PSV had been interested as well.
