Aksam report Besiktas fans insistence on their club signing Liverpool forward Daniel Sturridge is drawing the English striker closer to Istanbul.

Sturridge is expected to leave Liverpool this summer following a disappointing loan spell at West Bromwich Albion last season and Besiktas is reportedly a possible destination for the 28 year old.

Accordding to Aksam, the Besiktas board is currently exploring the possibility of signing the Liverpool player and the Turkish club’s fans have already started a ‘Come to Besiktas’ campaign to convince him to move to Turkey.

It’s also claimed Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez is keen on Sturridge but Besiktas fans could play a huge factor once again in the Turkish club’s pursuit of players. Alvaro Negredo and Pepe were also given the same treatment from the Besiktas faithful.

It seems Sturridge isn’t in the long term plans of Jurgen Klopp and may need to move on in this transfer window.

Sturridge made 14 appearances for Liverpool last season, scoring three goals for the Premier League side.
