Agent Giovanni Branchini has now ruled out his involvement with Manchester City to sign Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz.

Fussball Transfers journalist Dominik Schneider took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to report the denial.

SportBild had earlier reported Wirtz is the priority target for Manchester City in the summer window.
The attacking midfielder has starred for the Bundesliga winners, managing 15 goals and 13 assists from 37 games this season. He also played a key role in their title success last season.
Pep Guardiola and everyone at Manchester City wish to bring the German international to the Etihad. The report stated the Premier League club have tasked Branchini to convince the 21-year-old and his family to pick them over other clubs like Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.
According to the German magazine, the Citizens could afford to pay €150m to sign Wirtz.
Branchini has now wasted no time in dismissing SportBild’s claim, and the agent told the journalist that he is “not at all” involved in Manchester City’s efforts to bring Wirtz to the Etihad. The representative has labelled this report as “fake news”.
Manchester City could still maintain an interest in the Leverkusen star and an approach in the summer may not be ruled out.
