On Friday evening we covered claims from Italy about Manchester United working to sign both Edinson Cavani and Facundo Pellistri.
The Premier League club had been repeatedly linked with the latter over the past day or so, and bringing Cavani into the picture made it even more intriguing. Given the claims were in the same report, the assumption would be that the same agent or intermediary had shared that with Calciomercarto.it
Saturday afternoon saw claims from Uruguay of Manchester United being set to activate Pellistri’s release clause with Peñarol. Multiple previous reports in Uruguay had put the amount at $15m.
However, there was said to be an issue over what agents would make from the deal.
Quickly after that claim came the reports of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side reaching an agreement with Cavani, and it was stated he would travel to Manchester on Sunday for a medical.
Then, in turn, just after comes more on Pellistri. Sebas Giovanelli suggests the agent issue has been sorted out, and that the Peñarol player is currently waiting for a call to go for his medical, which it’s explained will take place in Montevideo today.
