Tottenham Hotspur were linked with multiple Serie A players during the summer transfer window, largely thanks to Fabio Paratici.

Given the Italian’s knowledge of football in his home country, it made sense that the former Juventus man would be looking there for Spurs recruits. That was clearly the case with part of Tottenham’s recruitment, and the situation is expected to continue.

TMW have an article on Milan Skriniar’s situation, given the good form the Inter Milan defender is showing this season. Spurs were linked with the player even before Paratici arrived, and those claims only grew when the director was appointed.

According to TMW, ‘increasingly insistent pressure’ from Paratici to sign Skriniar was a feature of the summer, with Inter Milan refusing repeat offers, presumably from various clubs, of around €30-35m.

They’re now clearly happy they did, yet the story is likely to return ahead of future windows, especially given the 26-year-old’s Inter Milan contract expires in June 2023.

Without a renewal, the situation will continue to build.
